My Jack-a-lacka,
Last week you sat there and said “I’m just so bored of being five”, well now you’re finally six!
Another year has passed in the blink of an eye. Yesterday I asked you what you’ve loved most about being five and you said “everything, but I’m going to really really REALLY love being six!”
After leaving behind a rather chaotic year, I was curious to see what the year between five and six would bring. I’m pleased to say it’s brought some calm, no home schooling, no restrictions, back to some sort of normality at long last!
You’re still keeping us busy every week with football and piano, but you’ve definitely found your groove with karate. You’ve graded twice this year, from white belt to yellow, and now to orange, not to mention 3rd place in your first ever competition! You’re taking after your daddy that’s for sure, and you’re already talking about getting ready for the next belt.
We’re just a few days away from the start of the new school year and it’s a big one, Year Two! Your last year in infants, you’ve got your first school trip in a few weeks and I’m so excited for you, I just know you’re going to thrive this year. You’ve built friendships that are going to last a lifetime, you’re so lucky to have such a group of lovely friends to spend every day with.
We also managed to get away for a few days, to Butlins! You absolutely loved every minute, we had the best time seeing how happy you and Thea were for the entire trip. You cried and cried as we left, so I know you definitely enjoyed yourself!
Jack, you’re still the sweetest kid I know. You have your moments, that’s for sure, but the majority of the time you are kind, funny and caring, especially towards your baby sister. The bond between you and Thea has grown and grown over this past year, watching you both play and laugh together makes me happy beyond words. You seem to have this sense of maturity whenever you’re around Thea, it’s like you’ve really taken on the role of big brother and just want to take care of her.
I can’t wait to see what this next year has in store for you, baby boy.
I love you to infinity and beyond
Mummy xxx
